What is New York Flow Festival?
New York Flow Festival (NYFF) is an annual World Swing Dance Council (WSDC) event hosted in midtown New York City on Friday, February 27 to Sunday, March 1, 2026. In our inaugural year, we will host WSDC contests, workshops with top professionals, and social dancing.
What makes NYFF unique?
We’re prioritizing a high-quality competition experience, including:
- Small heat sizes with slightly longer songs
- Contests capped around 40-45 competitors per role
- Experienced judges, from Newcomer through All-Star
- Social media-ready videography for all spotlights
- Personalized comments from a judge for all finalists
- Competitor anxiety and mental health workshop
- Post-competition competitor Q&A sessions with judges
- Leveled workshops with fellow competitors in your division
Outside of competition, you’ll be in the heart of one of the world’s greatest cities, with access to incredible restaurants, bars, and cultural attractions.

Can I earn WSDC points at NYFF?
Yes, you can earn WSDC points at NYFF. As of January 2025, all WSDC Trial events are eligible to grant points.
Who is organizing NYFF?
New York Flow Festival is hosted by NYC Swings, led by event directors Orian Breaux and Bekah Breaux. They are active community organizers in NYC and hosts of Flow Fridays, a cornerstone West Coast Swing social dance in the NYC community.
Who can attend NYFF?
In 2026, New York Flow Festival will be limited to about 300 attendees. All attendees must compete in a WSDC skill-based Jack & Jill (Newcomer, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, All-Star).
We will not offer social-only passes in our first year.
Where is NYFF?
New York Flow Festival will happen in Midtown New York City at the following venues:
- Danznik Studios at 240 W 37th St will host contests, workshops, and social dancing
- Ripley-Grier on 520 8th Ave will host workshops
- A nearby hotel (TBA) within a block of these venues
NYFF venues are only a few minutes walk from several transportation hubs: Penn Station, Herald Square PATH, and Port Authority Bus Station.
What contests will be offered at NYFF?
NYFF will offer the following contests:
- WSDC Jack & Jill skill-based contests, including Newcomer, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and All-Star
- WSDC Sophisticated Jack & Jill
- Strictly contests, including Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and All-Star
- Student Strictly
- New York Rat Race (All-American tournament-style contest)
All Jack & Jill contests will be capped to about 40-45 competitors per role. Competitors may only enter one skill-based Jack & Jill contest.
What is official hotel of NYFF?
TBA. We are partnering with a nearby hotel to offer accommodation at a discounted $187 per night. Join the mailing list to get notified when details are available.
