In May 2022, we started a monthly social called Flow Fridays with a simple vision: to create a space that feels like you’re attending a welcoming party with your closest friends, where the music is fresh, the energy is electric, and attendees leave excited for the next one.
Since 2022, that party has introduced over 3,000 people to West Coast Swing. We’ve watched first-timers become regulars, regulars become dance students and competitors, and community leaders rise to build new generations of dancers. Close friendships formed, dance partnerships clicked, and a community has grown that we’re incredibly proud of.
Swing dancing is in the DNA of New York City. Lindy Hop took root in Harlem in the 1930s and changed American culture. That spirit of joy, improvisation, and connection is still alive here, and we see our work in West Coast Swing as honoring that legacy.
New York Flow Festival is the next chapter: world-class talent in NYC, expert feedback that helps dancers grow, and a weekend that still feels like a celebration with close friends.
